Recommendations for use

Application features

For the product to work effectively, sunlight and thorough coverage of the plant with the working solution are required. Morning application in the absence of dew is recommended. Insecticides based on organophosphorus compounds and thiocarbamates should not be applied within 7 days before or after application of the herbicide Sumaro

Compatibility

The product can be used in tank mixes with most pesticides; however, test mixing must be carried out beforehand.

Application precautions

In the year following product application, growing sugar beet, pea, chickpea and vegetables is not recommended. It is recommended to sow soybean, sunflower and rapeseed after ploughing, while corn, sorghum, wheat and barley can be sown without restrictions.

Mechanism of action

Mesotrione blocks the action of an important plant enzyme and prevents the formation of carotenoids in weeds. Without carotenoids, light energy and by-products of photosynthesis destroy chlorophyll and cell membranes. The result is rapid bleaching of the leaves, followed by necrosis and death of the weeds. Mesotrione quickly penetrates the plant through the leaves, roots and shoots, stopping the growth of susceptible weeds within 1–2 days after application and destroying them completely within 2 weeks.
