Recommendations for use

Application features

It is recommended to apply the herbicide against young, actively growing weeds. The application stage is from 2 to 8 visible leaves of corn. The optimal herbicidal effect is achieved by applying at early stages of corn development from 2 to 5 leaves, but the main factor in choosing the application timing is the weeds' growth stage.

Compatibility

The product is compatible with other products. In any case, a preliminary compatibility test is recommended before use.

Working solution consumption rate

Paldis 0.4–0.5 kg/ha + Oil-Drift (sticking agent) 1.0–2.0 l/ha. Use of the sticking agent is mandatory.

Mechanism of action

The active ingredient of the herbicide Paldis belongs to the triketone chemical class and directly affects the carotenoid layer, disrupting photosynthesis; the weeds become discoloured and die quickly. Two days are needed to halt weed development; after 5 days the typical signs of the herbicide's action appear — whitening — and after 14 days — complete death. The herbicide's speed of action also depends on light intensity. On overcast days the action is slower. But complete death is ultimately achieved (only over a longer period).
